In loving memory of their son, Christopher, and his passion for reading, Stan and Marisa De Genaro have created Chris' Korner; a very special library designed exclusively for terminally/ critically ill children and their family. The first Chris' Korner will be opening soon in the very first Kristie's Place. Plans for purchase of a multi-acre property in a Los Angeles suburb are well underway for Southern California's first and only pediatric hospice facility. A first ever of its kind, in the entire nation, Kristie's Place will host all the comforts of home while offering round-the-clock medical support.
Chris' Korner will be a magical place where children can feel like they are walking into a storybook. The children can enter into a fairy tale and be swept away with the wonders of a good story. The library will host a variety of activities such as princess tea parties, crafts, puppet shows and special guest visitors. At night the children will be invited to come in their pajamas and gather around the tree of knowledge for cookies and milk and a bedtime story.
We need your help to get Chris' Korner launched. While donations of books are necessary to help keep the shelves stocked with reading material for children of all ages, monetary donations are crucial to help set up, decorate, and maintain the library.
